My passion for nature started at a young age, and the one for photography came soon after at the age of nine. My "training ground" has been the Gran Paradiso National Park, in the northwest of Italy. Here I explored nature and photography in all its forms, from the more classic wildlife photography of big mammals and birds to a more artistic research of landscapes and macros. In those mountains valleys, I fed my passion for nature and further developed my photography techniques. This passion inspired me to travel outside my home country, in Europe and America to explore new habitats and subjects. Among other destinations, my portfolio focused on the countries I ended up living in for longer periods of time: Wisconsin (USA), the Basque Country (Spain), and the Netherlands (where I currently live). My photographs have been featured in magazines, books, and exhibitions, and I gave various lectures in Europe about photography and conservation. My photographs have been awarded in some of the most relevant nature competitions, including: Wildlife Photographer Of The Year, Glanzlichter, OASIS Photo Contest, Environmental Photographer of the Year, Outdoor Photographer of The Year, Mammal Society Photographer of the Year, Scottish Nature Photography Awards.
I have an academic background in Biology and Communication.
